Another surfer dies from a shark bite..

This time it was reunion island..and he was only 13!   Sad news..I have two young daughters...and I would hate to think of this happening to them. They always wear their finbans. Don't get me wrong i always wear my St. Christopher medallion...but also always wear my finbans.

it seems the summer of the shark is upon us "again"...no different here in florida...another surfer bit in New Smyrna Beach..looks pretty serious....with 20+ yrs as a surgical tech/first asst in orthopedics...those pics don't lie. chris friel(in the white t-shirt) along with the gudauskas brothers..wear finbans...along with not picture here pros...taj burrow, dusty payne and brian toth. they wear it not because we pay them to...but because it works and they want to be safe and healthy. we just had a woman in south jax bch,fl  get bit in less than 4' of water...wading in the surf....26 stitches, and nerve damage...
i wish we could have gotten her one before.

marathon surf record bid

tommy cassaro local jax bch volunteer lifeguard was trying to set the marathon surf record this past weekend, which was set by another local surfer in 2012. he is trying to raise money and awareness for breast cancer(mom, and two friends diagnosed with it). although he was not able to accomplish this...in our minds he did more...and we give him huge props as one of his sponsors(check the right ankle for the fuschia finban)..you still can help him..by donating to surf4life.org.
